Albanian elementary school students from Decani have visited the Decani monastery, with the support of UNMIK, Komuna and KFOR, has been unveiled by this monastery.
“Today, we have enjoyed visiting fifth - grade elementary school students from Decani. This rare but extremely important visit of schoolchildren from the region has been organised by the NGO Agim by Isinqi with the sponsorisation of UNMIK, and has been supported by the Italian municipality and KFOR”, Decani's Facebook monastery has announced.
They add that the meeting was marked by an atmosphere of curiosity and mutual affection.
“Murgies spoke to children in English and a few Albanian, answering numerous questions about the history of the monastery and monastic life. The students displayed a keen desire to learn, which made the meeting an opportunity to learn something new and for children to approach the Christian brotherhood of Decani. In pleasant moods, gifts, backpacks, hats and flags have contributed, which separated children from Italian KFOR soldiers. Students, in turn, donated the monastery to two paintings in appreciation, the Decani Monastery, and the climbing of Christ”, the announcement said.
