DUI Chairman Ali Ahmeti has voiced concern for Kosovo's poor relations with the United States of America and the European Union, stressing that without their help, the country's freedom could be much harder to achieve.
In organising AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj for hosting Kosovo Liberation Army veterans (UÇK) on the case of Vetran Day, Ahmeti has stressed the importance of veterans' sacrifices for Kosovo freedom and has appealed for further unity, the EO reports.
He has stressed that they are the winners who gave everything for their homeland and that the obligation of the living is to honor and remember those who fell into war.
He has appealed more joint commitment and action, adding that it must continue with processes leading to Kosovo's membership in NATO and the EU, to ensure peace and sovereignty in the country.
I'm not happy that the relationship is so cold with America and Europe because without their help we would hardly have, we earned freedom and left with blood, but with the Allies we freed Kosovo. I am not glad that the Albanian language is not the official language in Macedonia, which they have shed for that language. We still need common decision and action, we have put together all armies and processes. Bringing together Kosovo's membership in NATO, and to the European Union and living free in peace and sovereignty”, he has stressed.
