The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has reacted to violations and mismanagements occurring in Public Company Bords, writes Periscopi.
The AAK through a reaction to the official site has mentioned steps in CRU Hidromorawa and KEK.
“The concern is the fact that the leader of the KRU Hidromoreva board, which is known for its close ties with the ruling party, is included in the close list for membership on the new board of the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), as published on December 2nd 2024. It ranks sixth on the list and will most likely be selected as a member of this board, testifying once again that the Kurti Government is not interested in the good performance of public companies, but in ensuring control over them to allow misuse.
The AAK strongly condemns these practices and calls on the Government to ban political interventions immediately and take immediate measures to ensure proper management and accountability in public companies”, said in response.

The Failure of Public Company Borders in Management and Continued Sins
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) through the Department of Water and Environmental Policy expresses its deep concern over the failure of public companies' boards in meeting their main tasks and the flagrant violations taking place in managing these companies. Such cases are clear evidence of the lack of accountability and proper control on the part of competent institutions.
An unacceptable case is counted in the Regional Water Company (KRU) Hydromoreva, where the board of this company has not only failed to meet the targets set out in the Business Plan, especially in terms of reducing water loss in the water supply system and realising capital investments to improve the network, but has also committed serious violations. In an irresponsible act, the board has allowed the removal of the company's logo from the chief executive's official car, enabling the latter to use the vehicle for personal purposes as well.
The move is just one example of mismanagement that characterizes many public companies, including similar cases recorded in the Gjilan and Gjakova municipality. We remember that the Chairman of the Gjakova municipality, Mr. Ardian Gjini, has raised similar concerns about the situation of public companies in this municipality.
Moreover, concern is the fact that the chairman of the KRU Hidromoreva board, which is known for its close ties to the ruling party, is included in the close list for membership aboard the new Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), as published on December 2nd, 2024. It ranks sixth on the list and will most likely be selected as a member of this board, testifying once again that the Kurti Government is not interested in the good performance of public companies, but in ensuring control over them to allow misuse.

The future of public companies should not be a hostage to personal and political interests, but should be based on transparency, professionalism and dedication to public interest.
