In his daily address to the nation, Zelensky has said the operation is reducing Moscow's capacities to conduct attacks within Ukraine.
Ukrainian president has said that this is the main goal of the offensive, despite the scepticism of some Western allies.
According to the Institute for War Studies, the nongovernmental headquarters organization in the United States, Russia has had about 11,000 soldiers in Kursk when Ukraine began its surprise incubation in early August.
However, reports from the American daily New York Times suggest that Moscow has managed to position soldiers in Kursk, without having to move soldiers to Ukraine.
According to those reports, Korean soldiers are engaged in Kursk, within the Russian counteroffensive.
In his speech, Zelensky has said he has been informed Monday also of top military commanders for the situation in Kursk and Ukrainian units that are located there.

Ukrainian Army Commander Oleksandr Syrskiy said separately that, if it were not for Ukrainian military forces in Kursk, <x0th>Twenty thousand enemies would be launched” into Ukrainian positions in the Donjeck region, a conflict area in which a decade of fighting is fought.
Ukraine and the United States estimate that more than 10,000 Korean soldiers have been sent to Russia.
Moscow neither confirms nor denies that North Korean troops are in Kursk.
In North Korea, state leader Kim Jong Un is said to have signed a decree to ratify a defence treaty with Russia.
North Korea and Russia have drawn close by the start of Russia's war in Ukraine in 2022.
The U.S. has repeatedly accused the genus of sending weapons to Russia, including ballistic and missile launchers.
