The Kosovo Government's warning to increase salaries in the public sector from January 2025 has caused resentment among citizens and unions of various institutions.
They consider this hike insufficient and link it to the election campaign. The same people also insist that this government pledge will be implemented.
Citizen Isuf Musliu calls “catastrophic fals” the value for which wages have increased. He says this decision has been made to win votes.
The citizen, Enver Leci, says wage increases will not be noted due to price hikes. He is disappointed by the current leadership, until he claims he has expected a radical change in the employment and income situation.
Meanwhile, Bislim Ademi maintains that these tools are not enough for health workers and other public sectors, says the state does not have enough funds to raise more salaries.
In addition to citizens, trade unions expressed satisfaction with this salary increase. They consider this decision to be the “campaign game”.
The head of the Federation of Kosovo Health Unions (FSSHK), Tevide Imer, in a proposal for Kosovo Press, says she has not taken this decision seriously, adding that he belongs more to the election campaign.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the United Education Union in Kosovo (SBASHK), Nundman Jashari in prononcing for Kosovo Preress, calls ironic wage increases. In addition, he says it can only be a declaration that will not be implemented.
Kosovo Fire-Fire Chief Editor Muharrem Beka, along with other dissatisfactions, says this increase is insufficient. According to him, there has been a demoturation and frustration in how they are treated.
Among other things, he cited the issue of the fire statute, health insurance, compensation for overtime hours, and lack of working conditions among the main requirements to be considered by the central level. At the end of October, the Government of Kosovo has decided since January of next year to raise salaries for public sector employees for 55 euros per month, while from July there will be an increase of 110 euros. So Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had declared at a conference for media until he showed that the value of the cofficiency remains 110 euros, but according to him will increase the amount of cofficients for one entity.
