Triple homicide in Glodjan, wife of one accused: He said he was home.

This statement, witness I.B., delivered Thursday at the Constitutional Court in Pec, in the case of the triple murder in Gllojan, Kastriot, Kressnik and Halil Mehmetaj, reports the “Justice Trust”.

Witness I.B. said that regarding the incident of the attack of students and bus driver in Glodjan, she had heard but had little knowledge.

I remember that day I was at work in the morning, and Kastriot got me out of work at 4: 00 p.m., after the hours were finished, by car”, the witness said.

She said that after completing her work hours, she realized that she had two days off and that she had shown her husband along the way and had asked him to send her to her family.

And he sent me to my family, but along the way, I called my brother that the chair was unregistered and my brother came out and took me to the village of Raushiq”, the witness added.

I.B. said that when they left Glogdjan, it could have been 16:30 and that her husband had informed her on arrival.

There wasn't something specific but as usual. He told me he was at home, as far as I know he didn't leave the house”, the witness said, talking about the critical night.

Then, in the case of the attack on Glodjan, he said he had heard from social networks that night, but with his husband (the accused Kastriot) they had not discussed it.

Since there were no other witnesses proposed by the defense at this session, the session was interrupted and the next was set for another date.

Similarly, the defender of accused Kastriot Mehmetaj, Kosovar lawyer Kelmendi, at her defense request, proposed that the hearing be closed during the Kastriot's wife's statement, as she did not want to be public for broad opinion and expose his wife.

However, such a proposal was rejected by the chairman of the jury, Leon Perlasca.

Otherwise, at the beginning of the seana, Judge Perlasca indicated that through international co-operation, expert Nicholin Duraj had been invited to the session today, but this court's request through the Ministry of Justice, to Albania's institutions for sending out the expert's call, as a result the expert failed to introduce.

According to the indictment filed on May 5th 2023 by the Founding Prosecutor in Pec, defendants Halil, Kastriot and Kreshnik Mehmetaj are charged that on November 26th 2021, in the village of Gllojan, the Decani municipality, exactly on the <x0majl Haradinaj” street, driven by postscriptult retaliation, in co-operation agreement with each other, deprived of three persons, two of them who were children.
