Shkodra: Nearly 700 thousand euros seized hidden in car doors

State police have seized nearly 700 thousand euros during a raid on an Albanian citizen's car until the same was entering Albania from Montenegro.

This case has arrested suspect L.N. The 51-year-old, who had hidden money on the modified doors of the vehicle he was running, type “Benz”, with the aim of illegally introducing them to Albania.

In addition to the money, 2 mobile phones have been seized.

“as a result of the immediate management of information provided by the General Directorate of State Police, PKK Border Police services Muriqaan, in co-operation with the services of the Shkodra Police Local Directorate, finalised the code-named police operation deprivedurial. During the operation, the citizen L was captured at Albania's entrance and arrested. N., 51, resident of Fifth Milot”.

“From the second line checks, in the vehicle this citizen was running, were found in two modified spaces on the back door, 680 595 euros, which this citizen intended to illegally access to Albania. Investigations are under way to prove the source of money”, State Police said.

Police have said they suspect the money stems from crime.
