The opposition has called for a no-confidence vote earlier. German leader Olaf Scholz has replaced his finance minister with current State Secretary Jörg Kukies, according to local media.
Cookies, who worked in Goldman Sachs for 17 years, is considered a close Scholz adviser and belongs to his centre-left Social Democratic Party (SPD).
The politician has previously been the secretary of state for financial market policy and European politics.
Kukies will replace former Finance Minister Christian Lindner, who was dismissed by the country's ruling coalition on Wednesday evening, writes Euronews, broadcast Clankosova.
