Constitutional Court “constantly hinders our reforms”, Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu said, in the entity-know-only attack on the highest institution of constitutional control of laws.
Haxhiu said “The delays... until 16 months... are unusual.” referred to several laws whose constitutionality is being addressed to the Constitutional Court; which have been submitted by opposition parties.
“The Constitutional Court has continually delayed our reforms, hampered reforms. Of course, we should have a stand, a public view of that. As for the reforms that the Justice Minister has addressed; even the Law for the Bureau and the Reform of the Prosecutorial Council that is still being addressed by the JCK; and the delays in the transitional tenders for self-defense, the law on ceiling prices; and the minimum wage, have had numerous delays, and even for up to 16 months, it is unusual.”, Haxhiu said.
“We've had meetings with a lot of our counterparts, and I've asked them how all that works, and we haven't found a single case where KRK votes laws like this one of ours.”, she said, among other things.
