“The Fund will provide financial support to startups, SMEs and companies founded in the ICT sector. Support will be in the form of capital, debt and grants, depending on the needs of companies. The Fund will also provide technical assistance to companies, including business development services, mentoring and training”, Abdixhiku said.
Kosovo has a relatively new population, with about 50% of its citizens under the age of 25, and that fact, according to Abdixhiku, presents a great opportunity for the development of the ICT sector.
“We will co-operate with sector businesses, universities, professional schools and training centres to develop these programmes. We will use current sector business programmes to amplify national training. Within a governing mandate, we aim to train from 35 to 40 thousand young”, Abdixhiku said.
Abdixhiku said the new “road” envisions the sharing of 80m euros for financing expert training in the field of information technology and new programmers.
The New “Road envisions also the creation of Technological Park, which, according to Abdixhik, would create a favourable environment for the growth and development of the ICT sector.
He said the LDK also proposes establishing the Ministry of Technology.
