Kurt from Vienna: By 2020 we added 24% new jobs, as a result of unemployment of 26% dropped to about 10%

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has participated in the 21st edition of the Vienna Economic Forum. Kurti during his speech, which the prime minister's office broadcast, has said that between 2008 and 2020 the average GDP growth rate has been 3.65%. Meanwhile, 2021-23, referring to [...]
Meanwhile, in the period 2021-23 -- referring to its government -- says that figure has gone to 6.2%.
He has also talked about increased investments, as well as says they have doubled exports.
The annual economic recovery for 2008-2020 on average has been 3.65% GDP, while for the period 2021-23, annual economic growth has averaged 6.2% GDP. This means that in the last three years, we have tripled GDP growth compared to the first year before pandemic, Kosovo's economy 2019 grew by almost 50%. We doubled foreign exports and direct investments; we added 24% new jobs compared to what we found when I took office in 2020, and as a result, unemployment dropped from almost 26% to about 10%. For us economic growth means social well-being. Growth should not be restrained for the state, but must be distributed into society and create equal opportunities for all. Every 8 euros of our emerging economy, which was achieved despite the multiple crisis, was re-entered for those most vulnerable to the economic crisis -- citizens and small businesses. This made us the government with the largest package of support in the region (in GDP report), as confirmed by the World Bank” has said Kurti, among other things.
Kosovo's prime minister has also spoken of the CEFTA Agreement.
The Joint Regional Trade and CEFTA are just bridges, but we need to build further on them. We aspire to improve this regional co-operation in ways that address old and developing challenges. My country, like many countries, has felt the effects of global economic uncertainty and disruptions of the supply chain, especially in recent years”, Kurti has said.
