Krasniqi: KLA veterans arrest in northern Macedonia, violates interstate reports

Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has demanded from the Kosovo government that at the joint meeting with the Government of Northern Macedonia on Monday, the persecution of KLA veterans and the fundamental rights of Albanians in this state be addressed. PDK leader, in a Facebook post, has criticised Kurti Government [...]
Header The PDK, in a Facebook post, has criticised Kurti Government for organising this meeting for not including these two issues in the agenda.
The arrest of KLA veterans in northern Macedonia, as happened this year, is unacceptable and violates our interstate reports. The Kosovo government should insist that such cases, which are now happening with the new government in northern Macedonia, are no longer repeated. Today, no veteran of The KLA is not sure to cross the border with northern Macedonia, due to the risk of this state implementing Serbia's warrant against freedom fighters”, it has written.
Until these urgent issues are addressed properly, other agenda points risk remaining under the shadow of the unresolved discontent of the Albanian people in northern Macedonia. True cooperation requires an honest and proactive approach to such challenges, ensuring that the dignity and rights of all citizens are respected and protected indiscriminately. Otherwise, joint meetings for the political show and without content do not need anyone”, he wrote.
And so, leader of The PDK has called for the organisation of meetings with Albania to be restored.
However, before any other meeting, Kosovo must restore the good tradition of meeting with Albania -- an important practice for interAlbanian unity and co-operation, which has been interrupted under the current government of Albin Kurti” -- Krasniqi has written.
