Hue: I learned later that Thaci was a member of the General Staff.

For Thaci, former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army- Buja said he had later learned that he is a member of the General Staff, reports the “Justice Trust“.

For Hashim Thaci, I later learned that he is a member of the General Staff. I remember contacting Thaci (Thaçi in May 1998), but how and what we've been talking about is a very long time and”, Buja said responding to prosecutor James Pace's questions.

On the matter against Fatmir Limaj, according to the prosecutor, the witness had said the General Staff had charged him with the task of securing the weapons line, which this request was forwarded by Thaci.

We actually said it higher than I did, and on the phone I could talk and I can't remember, there's a way to confirm it, Mr. Thaci -- it's okay, but it wasn't a” order, Buya said.

“I can't confirm that it's accurate that the circumstances in which I gave this testimony and we've really always been summoned to the General Staff, but I don't have days in May if it's Hashim Thaci as a member of the General Staff or not”, he added.

Prosecutor Pace again insisted on why the witness in the Limaj case had said the duty was assigned to General Staff and that Thaci had forwarded it to him.

We've assumed who could be a member of the General Staff and we don't have days, but we assume it might be Hashim Thaci or anyone else. When I said that, I said in terms of the assumption that he could be a member of the General Staff”, Buja said.

The Witness pointed out that he is not accurately reminded of who gave him this commission, Thaci, or his brother, Agush Bouja. He said he does not recall contact with Thaci on this issue, but since at various times he said he has contacted both his brother and Azem Syla.

The “at the moment is not remembering, but I have contacted both my brother and Hashim Thaci when he was in Switzerland, even with Azem Syla for whom I at the time was the general commander of”, Buya said.

He said he knows Hajrush Kurtay and according to him was deputy commander of Brigade 162, adding that he cannot remember when he took this position but who thinks it was the end of HINA98.

In his book Kurtaj had written that at the order of the KLA General Staff, Shukri Buja returns to Kacanik to communicate the Sabbath's decision to appoint Agim Bajrami as commander for the Kacannik unit.

I went (to Kacanik) for other jobs too, but for the appointment of Agim Bajrami as commander of the Unit. When we have a name, we've told someone that you're the name of the General Staff so we can have the space not to misinterpret those decisions. But, in fact, Agim Bajram was appointed commander of the guerrilla unit there and called on behalf of the General Staff. I know I have a communic with Azem Syla at the time and we don't have that day as commander general, but I actually said it in front of the unit or 3-4- Agim Bajrami you are destined for the General Staff to lead the unit. There was no written appointment, there was not after the order but there was communication”, said Buya.

This communication for the appointment of Agim Bajrami, according to the witness, may be in June or July 1998.

As a result, Kurti's book was accepted in material testing and classified as public.

At this hearing, all the accused are present in the courtroom, while the witness is along with the caretaker lawyer, who is Taulant Hodaj.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
