Hoti: Future government needs to turn its focus on Washington Agreement

Former Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has said he believes the future Kosovo government should turn its focus on implementing the envisioned projects in the September 4th 2020 Washington Agreement.

In a Facebook post, he has said that launching large infrastructure projects is Kosovo's strategic interest.

The new government must immediately start preparing implementing plans and secure basic financing to further enter negotiations with Kosovo's strategic partners for full implementation and financing of the” projects.

After the energy crisis, the gas project has received dimensions of national security. On the other hand, the Durres Railway makes Pristina joints of both ports of Thessaloniki and Durres, and infrastructure ports further into the Balkans and Central Europe”, Hoti has said.

Among other things, he has added that four years have been lost. Hundreds of millions of euros in investments have not occurred and thousands of jobs have not been created. This has to change. Infrastructural projects of the Washington Agreement exceed economic dimensions are the issue of national security and long-term economic sustainability of the Republic of Kosovo.

Washington's agreement was signed at the White House, when US President Donald Trump, who has won this year's November 5th elections.
