The Guardian has announced that it will no longer post restraint on the Elon Musk social media platform, X, from its official accounts.
In a reader's report, The Guardian said it considered that the benefits of being on the platform previously known as Twitter are now smaller than negative ones, citing the often disturbing “content” in it.
“We wanted to let readers know that we will no longer post at any official editorial account of The Guardian on the social media page X”, reported The Guardian.
The Guardian has more than 80 X accounts with about 27 million followers.
The Guardian said that the content on the platform for which there were long-standing concerns involved conspiracy theories of the right extreme and racism.
The Guardian adds that coverage of the US presidential election had crystallized its decision.
