With your support, we will return the power, dominance, prosperity and pride of our country”, Trump said two weeks before election day.
This will be America's new golden age”.
Now that Trump has won a second term as president, what can be expected from his new administration?
The answer to that question depends greatly on who you ask. Trump's supporters believe he will again make great America by the motto of his campaign inside and abroad.
His opponents have warned that Trump will undermine democracy in the United States.
Time for Revenge
He has repeatedly attacked his political opponents, referring to them as their <x0 enemy from within”, and suggesting that the army could easily deal with them” in case of chaos after the elections.
Comments have prompted outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris, who ran and lost in front of Trump, to say before the elections that Trump is “obsessed with revenge, full of resentment and hunger for uncontrolled power”.
Within the country, the American judicial system is a field where Trump It is expected to do sweeps, largely due to numerous criminal cases related to its first mandate, including the alleged election intervention and efforts to prevent the transition of power following its loss in the 2020 elections.
Trump also said that he would be due to the next “ ” his supporters, imprisoned for their role in the January 6th attack on the American Congress, in a failed attempt to prevent Joe Biden's triumph from being certified.
Thus, many predict that Trump will use “Project 2025” a right-right analytical centre initiative, Heritage Foundation, in Washington to destroy the secret state” as a sample for its policies.
Trump is distanced from “Project 2025” during his campaign, saying I don't know who's behind it, but research has found that at least 140 people who worked in the past Trump administration are involved.
“Trump likes to speak harshly, but rarely brings the words to the end”, said Keith Naughton, cofounder of the US-based firm Silent Mayor Strategies. Any revenge will be random and staff members. I think there's going to be a lot of changes in the Justice Department”.
War and Peace
The way the United States exercises its influence around the world is also expected to change.
Trump said he could end the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours”.
With Israel involved in a two-front battle in the Middle East against the Iranian-backed armed groups, Trump has called on Israel “to perform the” job.
Peter Skerry, professor of political science at Boston College, has said he expects the Trump of “push for a kind of solution” between Moscow and Kiev, which, as he predicted, “undertook major concessions on the part of Ukraine”
What Trump will do about Israel is less clear, according to Skerryt, but he has said that “will be a great supporter of Israel”, while at the same time trying to revive Abraham's Accords, aimed at Arab-Israel normalisation.
China, which Trump has launched a trade war during his first term in power, is an unpredictable field. Trump has pledged to approve more high tariffs on products produced in Beijing, if Beijing “Occupion Taiwan”. He said he would not use the U.S. military force to prevent a possible Taiwan Chinese blockade because of his relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Global Influence
In his four years as president, Trump has asked NATO members to reach the required level of defence spending -- goals most have since met.
Trump has also monitored the US's withdrawal from the cultural body of the United Nations organization, U n NCO, from the Treaty for Nuclear Forces with the Middle Line (INF) with Russia, from the nuclear agreement with Iran reached with world powers, from the Paris Agreement to ease the effects of climate change, and has cut off funds for the World Health Organization because of its response to the coronary explosion.
The outgoing Benden administration was taken care to turn the American influence on such agreements and institutions, but many people now predict another step back from Trump.
Skerry said Trump is “actor who has a purpose and looks at his interests”, which is focused on internal issues. It would not be surprising that Donald Trump would see “following” limiting Washington's role in some global institutions, he said.
Naughton said that “Trump would like to do things again by itself”. But, he added, the US Congress is not expected to make amen “and resist. /Radio Europe Free
