The Constitutional Court has a fundamental role to ensure the supremeity of the Constitution and to protect fundamental rights and principles in it. Independence of the judiciary is a cornerstone of rule of law and essential criteria for any democratic society. The Constitutional Court serves as the highest authority in reviewing the laws submitted for consideration. His decisions must be respected by all to ensure the effective functioning of power sharing and to strengthen the control and balance system. While acknowledging that the Constitutional Court should be independent and free of political pressure, it is also necessary to stress that the judiciary is not immune to scrutiny or open discussion provided it is constructive, balanced and well-based”, the EU Office in Kosovo told RTV21.
Kurti said last week the Constitution is making political decisions.
