Bloomberg has also reported that the Social Democrats of Chancellor Scholz and opposition lawmakers reached an agreement to hold early federal elections on February 23rd, citing government officials who were aware of these talks and who asked not to be identified for confidential planning, according to Bloomberg.
On November 6th, Germany's ruling coalition fell after Chancellor Olaf Scholz fired his finance minister and opened the way for early elections, causing political chaos in Europe's largest economy, hours after Donald Trump won the US presidential election.
