Court for the Washington Agreement: First of Brussels

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said he wants the Brussels Agreement reached last year with Serbia to be implemented first and then addressed by Washington. Asked if it is acceptable for him now Washington's deal reached 2020 at the White House if the new administration [...]
Asked whether Washington's deal reached 2020 at the White House is acceptable to him now if Donald Trump's new US administration insists on its implementation, Kurti said he expects the next agreement, that of Brussels, to be signed.
I can be responsible for the agreements I attended and accepted and expect the same from Belgrade, even though they press and do not respect this agreement. Let's start with the last agreement, which is a comprehensive agreement, because it normalises relations between Kosovo and Serbia through de facto recognition of each other”, Kurti said, following attending an event in Pristina.
Kosovo and Serbia agreed on the road to normalisation of reports last year. The agreement has not been signed, but the European Union, which brokers dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, insists it is binding on the parties.
The 11 provisions agreement, among other things, envisions a level of self-awareness for the Serb community in Kosovo, mutual recognition of state symbols, so that Serbia does not block Kosovo's membership in international organisations, and calls for Pristina and Belgrade to implement, as well, all previous agreements reached during dialogue.
Meanwhile, Washington's agreement on economic normalisation was reached in September 2020 between the US and Kosovo and Serbia at the White House, in the presence of President Donald Trump. This agreement, which included recognition of Kosovo's independence from Israel, has not been fully implemented. / REL/
