A Spanish research ship that examines marine ecosystems has been called upon to help find about 100 people thought dead after devastating floods.
24 crew members aboard Ramon Margalef were preparing Friday to use its sensors and diving robot to design an open sea area of 14 square miles the equivalent of more than 5,000 football fields, writes The Independent.
The hope is that a map of sunken vehicles can lead to body detection. Nearly 100 people are officially registered as missing, and authorities acknowledge there are more people found, except for more than 200 already declared dead.
