The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, position in Vienna, Austria, began with a meeting and conversation with our fellow citizens and friends of Kosovo under the organisation of the Kosovo Embassy in Austria. Along with Prime Minister Kurti was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diasporas Donika Grovalla-Schwarz.
He stressed that Austria is a partner country, ally and friend of our Republic, which has both historically and currently contributed to our protection and security, but also in terms of economy and culture, for which the state and the people of Kosovo are always grateful. On this occasion, he also expressed gratitude to guests from Austria and members of the Kosovo-US friendship group who were present last night in this organization, thus witnessing the good reports and ongoing friendship.
“Political, Austrian activists from the years since the 1990s have been and continue to be active names for public opinion in Kosovo. In this case, I had wanted to highlight Alois Mock, who as former Foreign Affairs Minister, became a strong voice for our country and people in the years of 90s, as well as former cascellari Franz Vranceki and especially his deputy secretary Erhard Busek, and of course diplomats like Fürst Albert Rohan, activists and intellectuals like Christine von Kohl, and to recent European parliamentarians, Ulrik Lucek of Lucas Mand1fax, he said.
Kurti said ties with Austria are historical and cultural and that it is happy that in addition to political support with Austria, economic and trade ties are growing.
<x0ports and imports between our two countries, between Kosovo and Austria, are always growing, meanwhile, according to the Central Bank of Kosovo is approaching half a billion euros in the amount of direct Austrian investments in our country. In Austria we have the network of Albanian diaspora businesses in Austria, already in Kosovo we have Austria's Contemporary Office of the Economic Ode”, he said.
Citing examples and stories of the success of our troop investment, and the possibilities that Kosovo offers along with the support Government provides through the Diaspora Investment Window, the prime minister urged them to continue investing in our country and explore the way they can exercise their professions in Kosovo as well.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Gervalla from there called on our fellow countrymen to register within the process of online censusing the population that is continuing for our diaspora by the end of the year, stressing the importance of the data from the census in the planning and delivery of services for them on the part of our institutions such as learning Albanian. It also called on our fellow countrymen to register for the Magyar vote so that they can exercise the constitutional right to vote that, in the next election, for the first time, they can physically or through mails at the embassies and consulates of the Republic of Kosovo. Deputy Prime Minister Gervala thanked all for the participation and hard work of each of our fellow countrymen over the years.
In Austria it is estimated to be close to 100,000 Kosovo citizens living, working and studying in Austria and contributing to both countries.
