“This is not the first time Putin plays nuclear game”, the European diplomat said in the past, following a meeting held to mark 1,000 days of Russia's start-up war in Ukraine.
“Russia agrees with the principle that nuclear war cannot be won, so it should never be launched”, he has said, warning that “seci call for nuclear war is irresponsible”.
Talks within the European bloc dominated by the need to boost support for the war in Ukraine have come as Kiev reportedly confirmed it has used long-range American weapons to attack Russian territory.
Russia has called this action the introduction to the new “phasis” of the war.
Borell is said to have pressured member states to be in line with Washington's policies and to enable Ukraine's long-range Russian attacks, and it is believed that France is considering this possibility.
He has not spoken to the media if something has changed in this direction, he has only said that most agree that Ukraine's <x0-Fits will determine the EU's path”, REL reports.
If Putin is successful in Ukraine, we will pay high bills, much more expensive than any kind of military support we can offer today”, he has said.
The chief of staff attended the meeting. NATO, Mark Rutte, who has warned that Putin should not be allowed to realise goals in Ukraine and has again called for Europe to advance the defence industry.
