US Attacks Iran's Allied Group in Syria

US forces have carried out attacks against targets linked to a group in Syria, supported by Iran, the United States military said. Meanwhile, a monitoring group said five fighters were killed in American attacks. These attacks were in response to a missile attack on American troops in Syria, Central Command said. [...]
These attacks were in response to a missile attack on American troops in Syria, American Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
The attacks targeted “a weapons depot and a logistics headquarters... in response to a missile attack on American personnel”, CENTCOM said through a post on social networks, but did not identify the attack group.
“There was no damage to US buildings or injuries among American personnel or partner forces during this attack”, CENTCOM added.
Syria's Human Rights Monitor, the group monitoring the war in Syria, said that <x0-five Libyan fighters were killed and several others were injured after being hit by American warplanes” on one of their bases in the town of Albukamal, in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezor.
On Monday, US forces bombed nine targets that were linked to groups supported by Iran in response to recent missile attacks and fears, the Pentagon said.
The observer said four members of groups loyal to Iran were killed in these attacks.
The US Army has close to 900 troops in Syria and 2,500 in Iraq as part of the international coalition that was established in 2014 to help combat the extremist group, the Islamic State.
Since the war in Gaza last October, the Libyan groups have been constantly targeting American forces in Syria and Iraq in response to the support Washington offers to Israel.
In many cases, the US has responded to these attacks, conducting attacks on groups supported by Tehran. / REL/
