The foundation had both released them earlier in the year. They were accused of committing war crimes against the civilian population. The founder had decided that there was no evidence that the accused had performed the work.
It is announced in Appeals' announcement that he has deemed the prosecution's complaint groundless.
Selimi and Demak have been convicted of war crimes in advance. But the case that was recently tried was turned into a retrial, as the only point of the indictment.
The Constitutional Court in Mitrovica in 2015 sentenced Selimi to eight years in prison for mistreating those detained in the village of Likoc. Under the court's bias, Jahir Demar Deqir Demak and Isni Thaci were sentenced to seven years in prison, while three years were sentenced to Nexhat Demaku, Agim Selmani, Dritton of the Demaj Union and Fadil Demaku.
The appeal in 2016 softened Sylejman Selimi's sentence for a year. And, after the Supreme Defence complaints, this court turned the case into retrial only for point 6 of the indictment, for which Selimi and Demak were released Thursday. /Koha.net/
