Aliu from IHMK gives the warning: This winter will be the coldest

But how are temperatures in Kosovo predicted in the coming days as well as winter season?

Besim Aliu from the Hydrometeorology Institute of Kosovo (IHMK) in a pronomation for Telegrafi has said the winter season will be the lowest temperatures as well as there will be denser snowfall compared to previous winters.

This, according to him, has been the hottest and longest summer of this year, with temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius continuing from June to October.

This winter won't be like next winter, since we've had a very hot summer up to 38 degrees Celsius. But the particular thing is that we've had a long summer period, from June to October we've had beautiful high temperatures.

And that energy, according to statistics, according to my experience in meteorology, thinks it's going to be fair during the winter. Or to be clearer this winter will be colder than the winters we left behind. There will be temperatures and lowers, but there will be even denser snowfall than in the winters we've been over”, Aliu said.

Aliu also said that during this month there will be rainfall in the lower parts, while there will be snowfall in high ones.

The last <x0 days we've had low temperatures, up to minus 2 or 3 degrees Celsius. But these temperatures are even lower in high areas. These days we had heavy clouds in parts of Kosovo, namely in the part of Podujevo where we had layers of snow that are normal for the days we are.

We always have lower temperatures in the high regions, whereas low areas do not expect snowfall to be just weak rainpokes. As we have rain rigs in the lower parts, these in the high regions turn into snow fjolla”, Aliu said.

For the coming days, however, Aliu forecasts slight rainfall in low regions and low snowfall in high regions, especially during Wednesday or Thursday. /Telegraphy/
