Two strong earthquakes hit the southern coast of Cuba on Sunday evening, according to the US Geological Service.
The second wave, measuring 6.8 degrees, occurred about an hour after the first 5.9 magnitude earthquake, while fortunately no reports were injured and no alarm for tsunami.
The center of the second quake was at a depth of 235 miles [23.5 km] below the ocean and at a distance of about 40 miles [40 km] from the coast of Bartholomew Maso, in the province of Granma.
The center of the first earthquake was at a depth of 14.2 miles [14.2 km] in the ocean, at a distance of some 35 miles [35 km] from the coast of Bartholomew Maso, in the province of Granma, and at a distance of some 55 miles [175 km] from Santiago de Cuba, the island's second - largest city.
