The 3.6 billion-euro draft project, the Government of Kosovo approved on October 30th.
Its value is 9 percent higher than the 2024 billion euro budget.
On the day of approval in Government, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that during his party's four-year rule, Vetevendosje Movement, Kosovo's budget has increased “year-on-year as never before”.
The draft envisions growth in nearly all expenditures, but mostly in subsidies and transfers.
These are state funds provided to help companies, physics, or specific sectors of the economy, such as. Agriculture.
The capital spending category will also have an increase of 71m euros, compared to this year's budget.
Growth, compared to this year, will also have salaries and extras for 111m euros.
In this category, the move was taken to cover the increase in wages and pensions.
Late last month, the Kosovo government made a decision to raise salaries for about 90 thousand public sector workers for 55 euros from January to 55 euros from next July.
On October 7th, the Government of Kosovo also decided on increased pensions by 20 percent.
Budget increases next year will also have some of the central state institutions, including those in the defence, security, health and road infrastructure sector.
Among other things, data shows that the finance ministry's budget will be the highest, the Ministry of Defence will increase for more than 54m euros compared to this year, while the Ministry of Infrastructure for about 47 million.
The 2025 Project says that during the present year, Kosovo's economy is expected to grow by 4.5 percent, continuing the growth trend even next year, for 5.6 percent respectively.
The main contribution to economic growth during 2025 is said to come from private consumption, private and public investments, but also from exports of goods and services.
Kosovo's budget is usually filled by Kosovo Customs and Tax Administration revenues.
Today's review is the first in the Kosovo Assembly.
The draft should also be considered second, and in certain cases it also appears in the third.
It must be approved further by the end of this year. / REL/
