This frustrated climate according to him is the responsibility of Kosovo leaders. He said in “Balkan Update” that the threat of visas by France's president is a very clear signal of Kosovo having to liberalise visas.
“In short term Kosovo's relations with the EU, I see problems. It is seen that the future is not as happy as Kurti said, because the Macron threat, at the French ambassadors' forum worldwide, was the first public threat, the first so high and very clear as to the greatest expectations Kosovo has from the EU, which is visa liberalisation. The question of behaviour in the north has determined the severity of relations with the EU, sanctions and, as a result, scale to this point that envisions visa nonliberalism, and the whole problem is in bringing Kosovo authorities to the north”, he said.
