Full communication:
In the beautiful town of Bled, in the coolness of the mountains and near the fascinating view of Lake, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti attended the business dinner invited by Republika Slovenia Prime Minister Robert Golob for regional leaders and European Council President Charles Michel.
Under topic “Solidarity for Global Security” within which the forum is under way this year, regional co-operation, Western Balkans membership in the European Union and security were discussed during the meal.
The prime minister stressed the importance of implementing agreements reached last year in the Berlin Process, where he singled out freedom of movement. On January 1st, 2024 all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo will be moved without visas to European Union countries, while being asked for visas to Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the remaining 50 days before the summit in Tirana, it is important to begin full implementation of the three agreements we have signed in Berlin.
The prime minister welcomed calls by Slovenia's Prime Minister Robert Golob and European Council President Charles Michel for focusing on expanding the European Union, as well as opportunities for Western Balkan countries and underlined the respect of minorities and mutual recognition as preconditions.
The European Union must expand. The Western Balkans must support enlargement, and aspiring countries must carry out reforms that accelerate membership.
