Kosovo Police Chief Editor Imer Zeqiri says the poor working conditions, undignified wages, lack of health and life insurance, and high risk, are some of the problems Kosovo Police members continue to face.
Zeqiri said they have consistently addressed their demands, but there is still no result.
According to him, in the first six months of this year, because of poor working conditions, some 40 police members have abandoned the institution.
In the first six months of this year alone, we have about 40 voluntary resignations due to dignified conditions”, Zeqiri has said.
He also spoke of failing to realise the surplus for high risk in the work of Kosovo Police members.
“I don't know why, and for what reason, risk extensions are not being executed that it is one of the dissatisfactions, within the constant requirements and conditions. I definitely didn't even have to discuss this additional risk.
The “Do not realising it has created a huge dissatisfaction with the police, accounting that the police official always has a permanent risk of carrying out his official duty... We have enough cases to reason that the police official is in danger during the official work. At first, we were told they would be paid, but the month passed February, March. Then they came up with a couple of statements that formed a commission in that direction... Working the commission for six months and not deciding on additional risk for the Kosovo Police, as well as some other additions for civilian staff within the police framework, it is really meaningless”, he has said.
Zeqiri also showed other demands that concern health and vital security.
We had this week's anniversary of the police being killed. Governments took pride in their work, and on the other hand, so little has been done for them”, he said.
The chief police union stressed that in terms of the Law of Salats, they have applied to the ombudsman who is ejected.
One of these defects has been added to the risk. Then there are extra hours after hours of work that have been paid to the approval of the Law of the Pagans. With the Law of Salaries, there has been a great injustice in lowering the experience of work...”, Zeqiri said.
Another problem, he said, is the retirement age of police members.
The police officer until now, before implementing the Law of Pays, has received three supporting salaries in case of retirement. And this new law has canceled them. So the cop when he retires, he goes like a rag used in a basket and nothing more”.
We have a retirement law on age 55. Even past governments have promised this and this government in the campaign. Today no mention of this work. Most members of the Kosovo Police are not paid dues and no compensation is paid to travel...”, Zeqiri said.
He also spoke of wearing Kosovo Police members.
It was a tender two months ago, but it was cancelled with the reasoning that neither of the bidders worked in the proper quality for uniforms. So we're down to”, Zeqiri said among other things.
Meanwhile, one of the Kosovo police officers, under the condition of anonymity (the last name known for editing) in a pronouncement for Telegrafi has spoken of difficulties during working hours.
He said that they have no shoes, pants and shirts for several years and that in cold weather, they come out with broken shoes.
The biggest difficulties are in shoes, but the entire uniform. We haven't got shoes, pants and shirt in years. Winters and bad weather, we come out with torn shoes. Now even the vehicles, most of them, are not in good technical state”, the police said.
The Kosovo Police Union has long ago handed over to the Kosovo Assembly a petition signed by police officers regarding their discontent.
The wage law, lack of health and life insurance, retirement law, additions to specific jobs, risk and working conditions are some of the discontent of police officials. /Telegraph
