Tensions in the North cause consequences on economy, foreign investors can leave

Concerns about the expulsion of foreign investors from Kosovo have increased. That the situation is serious and that the damages Kosovo can get, German Ambassador Rohde has also warned. Of the consequences the country may face if the situation is relaxed, former OEK Chairman Berat Rukiqi has spoken of. Recent events north of the country [...]
Recent events in the country's north and political developments seem to have begun to intimidate foreign investors.
German-Kosovo Economic Oda, representing about 200 companies from both states and potential investors, has expressed concern that German companies can give up investments in Kosovo, or disrupt existing activities.
The OECGGGGGS members are concerned that German companies can give up investments in Kosovo, or disrupt existing activities. News of political instability undermines the confidence of German customers and investors considerably. This negatively affects German-Kosovo economic relations and causes damage to Kosovo, such as investment and business location”.
Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has also called for the immediate breach of the situation. According to him, it is thus damaging Kosovo's reputation and potential in the face of the business community.
“Dations of concern for Kosovo's economic perspective are already on the horizon, damaging its reputation and potential even in the face of the business community. We repeat this call by the German-Kosovo Association of Businesses for immediate desept”, wrote Rohde in Titter, where he distributed the OECR post.
The Kosovo Economic Oda has also emerged in response to the issue. By OEK, they have appealed that all open issues be negotiated through open, transparent dialogue and full co-ordination with international friends and not to touch local and international businesses.
Kosovo's <x0.0th EconomicOda expresses its deep concern with recent developments affecting the country's economic developments. It appeals to all sides for caution and attention to Kosovo citizens and local and international businesses, whether as partners of local and potential investor businesses in our country. Therefore, OEK appeals that immediately Kosovo police officers be released without any conditions”, said in response.
Disturbing this situation, I am also seeing former Chairman of the Economic Ode, Berat Rukiqi, who has joined the Democratic League of Kosovo.
He has shown that during the week a company has contacted him precisely about these concerns.
According to him, any economic uncertainty in Kosovo suits Serbia.
For coincidence, I just received a call from a company that operates in Business Park, just with these concerns. Even in the individual contacts we have with companies, but even with representatives of the private sector, this situation has started to greatly increase the uncertainty of doing business with Kosovo or Kosovo and of the guests' calls for a deforestation or a calming of the situation, always considering that there is the other side that fits any economic uncertainty in Kosovo, so Serbia”, Rukiqi said.
Rukiqi has said the German ambassador's reaction shows how disturbing the situation is.
I'm speaking from the position that I've been part of the private sector for a long time even from what has come down to me with different investors, I see very problematic if there are fast political decisions that are really co-ordinated with friends, including the ambassador or German state that is among the leading investors in Kosovo, who when I express such concerns are not of any political target interest. And with the same seriousness, the government must approach the situation”, Rukiqi has declared.
He says the situation created in the country has greatly increased the uncertainty of doing business in Kosovo.
If there is no calming of the situation, Rukiqi says the first consequences will be placed on exports, as well as jobs.
The first “consequences are in decline of what has been a kind of success in recent years. Sometimes it has impacts on export, it's seen in the last two months, even for other factors, but also because of the crisis we now have. The second is job loss. If this situation continues to be so, then many jobs in these companies that are mostly foreign companies, serious companies that have offered dignified jobs to our citizens, the same jobs to lose”.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government has decided to block the entrance of all Serbia's billboarded trucks, as well as all trucks carrying this state's goods. The decision came after the kidnapping of three Kosovo border police officers by Serbian forces during yesterday in Leposaviq.
The Express newspaper has secured the order sent via E-mail to all Kosovo's regional customs points leaders not to allow the entry of any Serbian product into the Kosovo market, where it finds the decision has been taken.
The order was issued by Interior Minister Jalal Svecla.
“Sic you can understand from the corruption coming from the KKPC, from this moment on all border points, to be barred from entering the Republic of Kosovo of all Serbian board trucks, as well as all trucks carrying Serbia goods.
You've played to inform your staff and make sure the implementation staff has been notified by this ordinance. You're going to be familiar with the reports and next decisions”, says the email Express provided.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been declared for this decision at the joint conference he has held with Minister Svechla over the kidnapping of three policemen.
Kurti has been trying to ease this decision, saying the measures that have been imposed across border crossings, as is this to block Serbian goods, are not economic-traditional.
According to Kurti, these measures are set for security issues.
Our “Masses through border crossings with Serbia are not economic-traditional measures, but are security measures. The situation is far from common, and for us it is clear that aggression is coming from Serbia. Sometimes on illegal roads, it's possible even at border crossings, so as security measures we've made the decision of limited circulation and increased controls up to another” decision, Kurti said. /gazetaexpress
