In demand for the detention assignment, the suspect from January 15th to May 2nd 2022, in Zalec, Republika Slovenia, in his residence causes domestic violence, respectively physical and psychological abuse, against his injured wife A. K., while on May 2nd, 2022 in the morning hours the defendant committed sexual acts with the injured A. K., without her consent.
For these actions the defendant allegedly committed criminal acts, “Dhuna in the family” and”Dhunmi”, sanctioned under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the report, the case has been initiated on the basis of the request for International Jury Co-operation by the District Prosecutor in Celje, Republika Slovenia, for transferring the procedure to criminal case against defendants L. K. From the village of P., of Malisheva.
Prudimentary procedure judge Drilon Harachia has estimated that legal conditions for appointing the detention measure for the defendant in question have been met, because we are dealing with significant criminal acts, so with the possible finding of the defendant in freedom there is the risk of repeating criminal acts, the risk of running away and the impact on witnesses.
According to the announcement, the defendant will be held in detention for a month, which will be counted from the time of arrest on June 7th 2023 and will last until July 6th 2023.
The sides have the right to appeal to this decision at the Kosovo Court of Appeals.
