Former Emergency Director at the University Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), Basri Lenyan, has withdrawn from the race for General Director of Hospital Service, Clinical and University (SHSKUK).
Until today the test has been held for candidates, who are in the race for director of SHSKUK, Lenyan has decided to withdraw. And the reason for his withdrawal is the statement of USKKUK's Health Ministry Secretary and board chairman Naim Bardiqi, who had earlier declared he was known by Lenjan, who has friends and drinks with him. But Lenyan has been denying having had coffee with Bardiqi since 2019.
This statement led me to retreat and make way for other candidates, so that I am not an obstacle. I haven't had a conversation, no reference, no contact, and then a statement came out from the permanent secretary, that we were friends of the generation and had coffee together. We've been friends of our generation, but since 2019 we haven't had coffee and never met family. I think the truth is what I'm showing. That was the main cause. The main reason was that it wasn't supposed to be allied up. Because we all know each other. Dr. Nazim and I were friends of the research generation, he was a very good student and colleague. We're good friends, but in 2019 we've never had coffee and we haven't had a direct” meeting, he said.
While he says that his withdrawal was not tactical but that he thought it would be a fair race.
I'm pulling out of the race. I thought it was a fair race. My retirement wasn't tactical. I've seen that I can't find myself there, because the overall political influences affect directly the selection of dictatorships”, he said.
While asked whether his withdrawal is concerned with favouring any of the potential candidates, Lenyan said it is now known that in Kosovo, political influences are in all institutions, when it comes to key positions.
I've never spoken to names in my career, nor will I speak now. We live in Kosovo. Effects on the outside and the inside are present. The political effects of electing candidates in institutions have impact. But we hope that this political move is in favour of KSFUK. I'm the only candidate, you can investigate that he didn't contact any decision-makers who decide the key positions. I've been thinking about traveling alone, interviewing merit candidates. There was no sign of jealousy as to who will be elected in the direction of the SHSKUK. But mainly political influences are affecting all over Kosovo. This policy should leave and pave the way for new generations, so that at least health professionals are at the level of obligations belonging to”, he said. /Indesksonline
