Luljeta Aliu, known for her TV presentations and writing on social networks, as the open supporter of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Vetevendosje Movement, can be elected today by Kosovo Assembly deputies members of the Independent Media Commission.
EFJ Secretary has called on Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who is LV chairman, to stop “further policyisation” of the KPM.
Kosovo's “Assembly is expected to elect three new members of the Independent Mediav Commission today. I am deeply concerned to hear that the ruling party, Vetevendosje Movement, is prepared to choose people who are public supporters of this party. I call on Albin Kurti not to allow further policyisation of the KPM”, Gutierrez wrote.
Aliu has long been aiming to become part of the KPM and has now appeared before MPs, whose parties have been declared on social networks and television studios.
Luljeta Aliu is the candidate who, in November, has been rated highest for KPM members by the Parliamentary Commission, comprised in majority by LVV deputies. The commission was made up exactly from Njazi Isaac, leader (LVV), Valon Ramadani (LVV), Grand Queen Kryeziu Hyseni (LVV), Fitim Haziri (LVV), Besim Muzaqi (LVV), Fidan Yildita (from 6+), Valentina Bux5>, Albana Bytyqi (AAK), Merrim Lushtaku (PDK), Isak Shaban <8>.
Independent Media Commission (KPM) is a competent body for regulation, management and monitoring of the spectrum of transmission frequencies in the Republic of Kosovo. With the Constitution of Kosovo, KPM is defined as an independent body. Under the law, the KPM licensed public and private broadcasters, defines and implements broadcast policy as well as regulates rights, obligations, and the responsibilities of physical and legal persons offering audio and audiovisual media services.
