Vuciq warns next Kosovo-Serbia meeting for elections in the north

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has warned of the development of a “technical level meeting with Kosovo, while speaking Tuesday in Brussels about elections held in the north. For the post-election situation, Vuciq said the European Union has had a proposal he has accepted, but said Kosovo has refused.
“I accepted, Pristina refused. I think it's very important that we get through that” situation, Vuciq said.
“I hope that until the next round at the technical level, whether on May 18, 20, or 21, there will be reactions from some that may affect changing such attitudes. I am not an optimist, but I can promise that we will do everything to preserve peace and stability”, the Serbian president said.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq at the meeting Tuesday also spoke of elections in the north.
European Union High Representative Josep Borrell said the April 23rd election process has shown that it does not offer long-term solutions to the situation and that it has potential “leading to its escalation”.
This is not what we want. I hope no one wants it, but the danger exists”, Borrell said.
The municipalities in northern Kosovo -- northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposaviq -- went to extraordinary elections after their mayors resigned in November last year in protest of a Kosovo Government decision to re-register vehicles with Serbian illegal plates.
Turnout in the April 23rd election was less than 4%, as the Serb List ʹ the largest Serbian party in Kosovo boycotted them.
