She said there have been broad talks and has stressed that it is urgent to establish association and implement the agreement.
“As the representative of the Biden Administration I have come to reinforce the message that the Biden Administration has said about the importance of implementing the agreements, which will produce a normalisation that will be an important surplus for Kosovo and Serbia. Normalization will be useful for business”
She said she hopes Kosovo and Serbia will go to the EU-mediated dialogue with proposals.
We have had extensive talks in recent hours on the urgency of creating association, as well as the urgency for full implementation of all aspects of the agreement. We have hope that the parties will pass through the next stages of dialogue with specific proposals”.
The political choices we have in front of us are very difficult. On behalf of the US and Biden, I want to underline once again the urgency to move forward with implementation and also the importance of the discussions mediated by Lajcak. I'm glad Lajcak was here. I've also seen the unity between Europe and the United States”.
Power said that messages on the terms of association were sent through Special Adviser Derek Chollet and US envoy for the Balkans Gabriel Escobar.
And we've made it clear through Cholles and Escobar we've mentioned to you what principles are and I believe that in every association we have to stick to those conditions and we have the confidence that, in all sincerity and these issues will be solved specifically and will help progress and make major advancements in the days ahead --”.
