According to a new study published in Annals of Neurology, receiving treatment to combat insomnia can prevent the development of Alzheimer's disease later in life.
In particular, researchers from the University of Washington School of Medicine who conducted the study concluded that the elderly who received hypnotic preparations before sleeping reduced the levels of two key proteins associated with the beginning of Alzheimer's disease.
