Meeting at the highest political level of Kosovo- Serbia could be an empty point, following a period of tension. That's how they appreciate connoisseurs and developments in Belgrade.
After all these events in recent weeks, it would be good for that meeting to be used for the calming of the situation, and I think that the mediators will do it”, says diplomat Sreqko Djukkiq.
“Theme is forming the Association, whether by that name or by another name, but the topic is very important, and it can be a point of particular importance for the future course of implementation of the Ohrid Agreement”.
On the eve of the meeting of President Vuciq and Prime Minister Kurti on 2 May in Brussels, official Belgrade expects concrete agreements for Association. However, part of the opinion thinks the Ohrid Agreement is experiencing critical moments, and the particular responsibility belongs to Belgrade.
Serbia's “position towards Kosovo is disappointing. We have a situation where Serbia has violated the agreement at 4th point with the vote against Kosovo at the Council of Europe”, says Zlatko Martinov, publicist and journalist. “Therefore, for this I am skeptical and believe Serbia with Vucinqi is not ready to implement the Ohrid Agreement. It remains to be seen what will happen on 2 May in Brussels”.
While there are many unknowns related to association, there are expectations that there will be progress and concrete steps on the issue of missing persons, as the text of the declaration of missing persons has been agreed on earlier, and is expected to be adopted at the political level.
