Romanians fear the recent tensions in northern Kosovo, so Romanian Federation Chairman Razvan Burleanu said at the press conference that he is notified and aware of the situation in northern Kosovo and that for this reason there is the possibility that Romania's National comes to Kosovo without the presence of its fans.
The moment these incidents occurred at the border between Serbia and Kosovo, a working group has been formed in our Federation. We are in constant contact with the Romanian office in Pristina, with the local Football Federation, and also with UEFA. At the moment, while we have information from the field, there is no danger to the official match between Romania and Kosovo in Pristina. However, we want to make sure that our fans are safe if they want to travel to Pristina”, the Romanian football leader said initially.
That's why I ask the fans to look at all of the Federation channels, where we're going to provide refreshing information. Because, we take care of the safety of the fans, so they don't risk it. That's our goal. We will put the safety and health of Romanian fans ahead of everything, so we think about all possible scenarios. In the next few days, we will return with more information on this case. If there is even the smallest danger, we will not take any risk and our fans will not come to Pristina”, Burleanu continued.
Romanians hope the situation in Kosovo will be retired in the coming days, so Romanian fans can come to the “Fadil Vokri” stadium to support their Nationality in a direct match for the second member of Group I.
