“Kossev” has indicated that the goal is to democraticly prevent the newly elected mayor Izmir Zeqiri from taking office.
Bisevac became chairman of Zubin-Potok's Municipal Assembly with automatism after Serbs from the north left Kosovo institutions in November last year, including local government.
At the time, the positions of the asambitists remained hot in four municipalities. Unlike Zvecani and Leposaviqi, in northern Mitrovica and Zubin-Potok, asparalytists who were automatically in line on the list were given the opportunity to meet free places.
At the end of December, two months after abandoning institutions in this municipality, sessions were held in the village of Caber, in which 13 advisers of Albanian Nationality were sworn in by LDK, PDK and Vetevendosje.
On January 26th of this year, three Citizens Initiative advisers for Zubin-Potok, along with the mayor, decided to receive their mandates, as they said then, so that “Albanians would not rule independently in this municipality”.
Since then, they said, they have held only a formal session not to be given mandates.
In the April 23rd elections, which were held in four northern Kosovo municipalities, the Civic Initiative for Zubin-Potok did not participate. As “said, they do not believe elections are being organised in a democratic manner”.
The mayor of the Municipal Assembly, Bisevac, received an invitation to organise the session in which the new chairman would be formalised. Although the Civic Initiative for Zubin-Potok said it would be held with or without its participation, Bisevac decided to leave the post.
“We wanted to stop taking office from the new chairman, resigning from the post of chairman, who must call that Assembly. That way we want to prevent the new chairman from taking office in Zubin Potok, where the absolute majority of the population are Serb”, the initiative says.
