Monthly basket cost unaffordable for citizens' pocket

Oil, sugar, milk and flour prices continue to be high. These are just some of the basic products of the consumer basket that are hardly coping with this phenomenon. Their heavy condition, according to the Consumers Association, is being ignored by the government.

According to the Consumers' Association, Kosovo's government is ignoring the heavily pocket of citizens.

They don't recognize us, they ignore us, they enslave us, they exorcise us and they don't feel our pain when we have price problems, when these prices run out of inflation, when this inflation hits us with low wages of”.

These awards are even being seen as a government contribution to the flight of young people from the country.

I think it's a contribution to emptying Kosovo and it's not done without political intent and the Government of Kosovo should be responsible here.

But according to economists, high prices are also the reason for manipulation by businessmen.

The reason they continue to be high still relates to the supply prices they've had these last months, where we've really had a drastic price increase. Then we have cases of manipulations that make other merchants at prices, with the amount of products.

According to the Kosovo Statistics Agency, basic products have had an increase of over 16 per cent compared to the same period last year, reports Tv1.
