Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed the document in law on Wednesday.
To protect Montana residents, personal and private data from the Chinese Communist Party, I banned TikTok in Montana”, Gianforte said after the law was signed.
The new decision prohibits companies from offering this app on January 1st of next year, and prevents TikTok from operating as business in the state.
For every day that this platform will be accessible, after strengthening the law, app providers will have to pay fines of $10,000.
Users will not be fined, and those who used the app in the past will not be affected by the decision.
TickTok has not yet reacted to this legal change.
In the coming days, there is likely to be complaints or indictments challenging this decision, with the excuses of freedom of expression.

The company, on the other hand, has rejected these suggestions.
