Defence Minister Armend Mehaj said peace is the only way, while confirming that the travel and goal of KSF is only NATO membership.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the largest international military exercise in the Balkan region, “Defender Europe”, Mehe said that every task to be achieved, while confirming that new military equipment was bought, when a few days ago it was reported that Kosovo has bought the <x2-Bayaktar fears from Turkey.
We will always do according to NATO standards. For our way and our journey is clear. Our destination is one and only: NATO membership. Therefore, we will be fulfilling every task, any obligation required for us to become part of the Euro-Atlantic family”, Mehe said.
He said the establishment of military capacities has been made “to claim the country”, which he said will protect “whenever necessary”.
Over the past two years, our main focus has been on increasing the number of military, training, training and schooling, then building combat capacities through the purchase of military equipment and new systems. All this is done to rule our country. The freed homeland and freedom won by the Kosovo Liberation Army we will protect whenever necessary”, Mehe said.
The past “has taught us that to gain freedom you have to shed blood, while to preserve peace you must shed defeat and sweat”, the defence minister said, among other things.
This year's exercise will take part in five different NATO armies that will be trained in parts of Kosovo by 2 June and accompanied by five senior US Army officers.
Unlike past years, Kosovo will have triple the number of soldiers participating in exercises led by the United States.
Part of this event will be the exposure of KSF equipment, to be done in “Square. Skenderbeu” in the capital.
