Lajcak said his visit to Pristina and Belgrade aimed at preparing for the next round of talks between two states, Kosovo and Serbia.
But Lajcak has declared that in Kosovo's north, he has heard “disturbing things”, urging Kosovo not to take uncoordinated actions.
It is good to have returned to Brussels after my visit to Kosovo and Serbia, where I traveled to prepare the ground for the next round of the chief negotiator's meeting in Brussels. My first stop was in Pristina, where I met with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and First Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi. During the meeting, we discussed expectations for the upcoming meeting in Brussels and stressed the need for full focus on the normalisation and implementation of the Brussels Agreement and its Ohrid annex. I also stressed the importance of avoiding any uncoordinated movement that could disrupt the” process, Lajcak has said.
I then continued my visit to northern Kosovo to meet with co-ordinators from civil society and political parties and to discuss recent developments. Unfortunately, what I heard bothered me. Therefore, I reiterated the need to avoid any possibility of escalation and full concentration in normalisation”, the EU's emissar has said.
He has also written about his visit to Belgrade, namely the question of dialogue.
My” My visit later continued in Belgrade, where I met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and the director of the Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkov. During our meeting, we discussed the way forward to implementing the 27 February Agreement and its 18 March annex to prepare for the meeting in Brussels tomorrow. I expect the two chief negotiators to be willing to agree on future concrete steps towards implementing the” Agreement.
As Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi's Media Office has announced, the latter is headed to Brussels, where he will have a meeting with the director of the so-called “Zyrree for Kosovo”, Petar Petkov, under Lajcak's mediation.
