Solving technical issues in politics is not for people who want quick solutions, he said in an interview for Croatian television, Nova.
He praised the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as a very difficult process and that everyone understands the situation is difficult, but also indicated that on the other hand, the formation of the Serb majority municipalities' association is necessary.
“There is a awareness among American policymakers that Serbs in northern Mitrovica and Kosovo, in reality, should have this issue resolved through the Association of Serb majority municipalities”, Hill said.
The “is an issue that both Europeans and the US are dealing with, and although there will be no progress at any meeting, we will eventually have a community of Serb majority municipalities”, the US diplomat said.
He agrees with European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell, in his negative assessment of the recent elections held in northern Kosovo, which were boycotted by the Serbian List.
“I don't believe that these elections can have a positive impact on Serb majority municipalities in the long run, and it is important for me to focus and overcome it and reach the Association of Serb majority municipalities”, Hill said.
“Dates are deep and it's time for people to start listening to each other better to find a solution”, he stressed.
