Escobar: With association we aim to undo Serbia from northern Kosovo

The United States' special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, has said that with the establishment of the Serbian Majority Commission Association, the US wants to undo what Serbia is doing in northern Kosovo. So he said during a hearing session on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. [...]
So he said during a hearing session on the Committee for Foreign Relations in the American Senate on the subject “The US Policy assessment of the Western Balkans”.
“The foundation of association is a pledge that is made in the Brussels agreement. But we have repeatedly told Kosovo that we will help it shape association into something that is a European model that does not prevent the sovereignty of the state, the structure of the Constitution, or the functionality of the state”.
“The way we see it, association is a way to unite four municipalities to enable municipal services for minorities in Serbian language”, Escobar said.
“We would like to use the Association to undo what Serbia is doing in Kosovo's north and bring [verito] into the structure of Kosovo, so that they [Kosovo] can control it and it is under the laws of Kosovo”, reports Klankosova.tv.
So I don't see it as Serbia's tool, I see it as a way for Kosovo to accommodate these citizens living in Kosovo”, US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar said.
