Djukanovic has said the practice of democratic transition of power is welcome to boost democratic culture in Montenegro.
He has stressed the need for continuing Montenegro's Euro-integration route.
The president's “position on that policy is very important and very influential, I believe it will be so in the coming period, I believe Montenegro will continue to walk successfully on the European development path”, he has said.
On the other hand, President-elect Jakov Milatovic has said that the democratic transition of power is a good example for Montenegro.
I use the opportunity to thank Mr. Djukanovic for constructive discussions, you know that we are competitors and political opponents, but at the very least we have shown that we are above all committed to the role and function that Mr. Djukanovic and from now on I'm going to do it”, he said.
The inauguration ceremony of the elected president, Jakov Milatovic, will be held on Saturday, May 20th, in the Montenegro Assembly, where Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is expected to attend.
