Clan traffickings fired on police at Albania border -Kosovo

Albania's police have announced Kosovo counterparts that a vehicle with the provisional entity was illegally crossing the border. They made it known that traffickers who were carrying clans shot at police employees.

None of the police effective has suffered injuries.

According to them, 5 citizens of Syrian and 1 Algerian origin -- aged 20 to 40 -- have been arrested, while another Algerian has been declared on the run.

They are charged with criminal acts “The murder of state police officers”, left on the attempt, carried out in co-operation, “Producing and possession without gun permission, explosive weapons and ammunition” and “Assistance for illegal crossing of”.

According to police this armed group organised and directed the criminal activity of illegal immigrants from third countries, through green borders, between Greece, Albania, Kosovo and Serbia.

Latif Hoxha, chief of operator sector for monitoring Kosovo border- Albania said that “were organised group”. According to him, the reported fugitive has been prosecuted earlier by Kosovo and Albanian police, as well as has been arrested.

“The individuals who have been coming, at the moment of the visual meeting with Kosovo police, have returned from the Albanian police, to whom they have fired. Unable to enter Kosovo and turn back have used shots to save”, Hoxha said.

At the first moment, 3 persons were detained by Albania's police. Four others fled to the top, to the difficult mountain, and the terrain was brushed on both sides. All units have been involved in the Albanian part. Later by the Albanian police we received confirmation that 3 others were arrested. We didn't shoot. Only they have fired”, he added.

Operation called “Structuring” is continuing for the find of firearms used in this case, as well as for the capture of Algerian citizens declared in the search.
