The British government has offered money to several Albanian prisoners in the United Kingdom to leave.
Great Britain is paying them up to a thousand and 500 pounds for drilling in Albania, where even flights for such a thing have already increased, following the agreement between the two countries last December to curb and prevent illegal migration.
The BBC spoke to dozens of people on some of these flights and found that most came from U.K. prisons.
A man about 30 years old told the BBC that he was offered a thousand and 500 pounds to return home, under a special programme called Light Return Scheme.
The immigration officer came to see us. They ask you to return [to Albania] or stay in the UK. They explained that if you return, you get one year removed from the” sentence, he said, writes BBC, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
A U.K. government document clearly states that the scheme is “a financial stimuli” that is offered to foreign prisoners “provided they co-operate with the expulsion and relinquish their right to appeal against it”.
He said it was his choice to return to his homeland.
