Kosovo height continues to face various problems. Lack of professionals and equipment has caused difficulties in providing health services to public institutions. For certain services, there are times when citizens expect from 2018. The Association of Patients requires more transparency.
Patients who requested certain services at the Orthopedic Clinic five years ago are still waiting.
Other clinics are facing the same problem, although working groups have been created to examine lists. One of the reasons is lack of staff, extenuating material or equipment.
Gazmend Spahija, director of Anesthesiology Clinic, says there are few staffes compared to clinic demands. He says they've been forced into custody too.
We are 45 anesthesiologists, and this is a small number that should be divided into 34 units within KKUK. Orthopeda's clinic has the most demand and now with the new facility increased capacities but we haven't added the number of anesthesiologists”, Gazmend Spahija, director of the Clinic of Anesthesiology, said.
Waiting is also available for radiological services, while the number of these professionals is not considered sufficient because they have to assist in regional hospitals from QKUK.
The requests at the radiology clinic are still very high where within the day come up to 50 requests for magnetic resonance examination. We have eased the waiting list”, said Shkkapije Nuza, director of the Radiology Clinic.
The Patients' Rights Association has demanded more transparency in creating lists.
“should be managed slightly differently and lists should be more normally encrypted transparent to maintain privacy”, said Besim Kodra from the PRAK.
Kodra considers it to be avoided access to list creation after citizens forced to spend large sums of money in private institutions. / RTK/
